Who We Are
The Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church is committed to Exalting the Savior, Equipping Saints, Evangelizing Sinners, and Proclaiming the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Love of Jesus Christ. The Green Grove M.B. Church was established in 1911 in Prentiss, MS.
Green Grove has been devoted to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, the study and application of God’s word and outreach since its inception over 110 years ago. We are Baptist because we believe in the freedom of all people to know God. We are a church because we are a community of believers united for the common purpose of loving God, others, and ourselves unconditionally.
Our Under Shepherd
He is a 1981 graduate of the Philadelphia High School of Philadelphia, Mississippi. He is a 1988 graduate of Mississippi Valley State University of Itta Bena, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He holds a Master of Divinity and Church Administration degree from International Theological University, Pasadena, California. He accepted a call to the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach in July 1985. He was ordained at the Goodway Missionary Baptist Church of Philadelphia, Mississippi under the leadership of his pastor and father, the late Reverend A.C. Rush. He began pastoring in March of 1986. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1988 and became an associate Pastor of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Phillip Tillman, former president of the Chicago Baptist Seminary. He accepted a call to serve as the Under-Shepherd Executive Pastor of the Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church in December 2001.

We minister to the whole person and we love all people. We believe all people are made in the image of God and deserve unconditional love and respect. That’s why we attempt to treat everyone we meet with dignity.

We worship in spirit and in truth. We offer growth opportunities to all ages. We give back to the community.
Here at Green Grove, we make worship a priority. We embrace the love of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the spoken word to make practical points about everyday life.
We create dynamic opportunities for all ages to learn and grow in ways they may never reach without the presence of the Holy Spirit. We study the Bible, we seek to live out its truth; we are always looking for the connection between real faith and real life.
